MV grows 20% in a year of economic difficulties in Brazil

MV, the third largest software company in Brazil, closed 2014 with positive results. As a result of well-defined strategies, the annual balance reported net revenues totaling R$ 161 million, which represents a 20% growth and EBITDA margin of 27% in a period that, for many entrepreneurs, had few investments and low development due to the economic uncertainty experienced in the country.

Representing a year of innovation and expansion for the company, the year 2014 included, for example, solid investments in R&D and this led MV to anticipate the market trends and, once again, reinforce its pioneering position. Bringing a new scenario in healthcare and well-being for patients, doctors and hospitals, the Global Health – a cloud platform launched during the 2014 Hospital Fair – promotes a smarter healthcare management. Through web solutions and mobile applications, the platform stores data and information, such as medical records, prescriptions, exams and family history, allowing the search by physicians according to the specialties, appointment scheduling, and sends notifications by e-mail and SMS. In addition, with My Calendar, a solution available on Global Health, doctors are able to view their calendar, register the attendance or absence of patients and have more control of daily care.

In 2014, MV gained over 70 new customers, including hospitals, emergency care units, health departments and health plan carriers, such as Hospital Santa Izabel (BA), Santa Casa de São Carlos (SP), the Municipality of Itu (SP) and the Department of Health of Piauí. The company also expanded its presence in foreign markets. The Center for Diagnosis and Advanced Medicine and Medical Conferences and Telemedicine (CEDIMAT), located in the Dominican Republic and considered of high specialty, acquired the hospital management system SOUL MV to ensure the achievement of the Joint Commission International (JCI) certification.

As part of the strategy to reinforce its presence in the market and consolidate its position as a major player in the provision of specialized software for the health sector in Brazil, MV acquired Racers last year, a developer of systems for Unimeds, and Consulfarma, which focuses on public health and stands out for being the only segment with expertise to conduct the statistical periodic monitoring of health information from the municipalities.

New clients and new acquisitions have enabled MV to expand its national and international presence with new units in Cascavel (PR), Ribeirão Preto (SP), Teresina (PI) and Santiago, Chile.

For 2015, the challenges include maintaining the 20% growth by continuing to make investments in innovation; M&A; consolidating the public health market; expanding its presence in the segment of health plan carriers; strengthening RIS/PACS solutions, making them a reference in Diagnostic Medicine; and also by improving the production and technological capacity through investments allocated to more than 1,000 professionals of MV’s team.
